It's time we did away with this antiquated inaccurate method of tallying votes. Since the Florida election mess, many other states have outlawed punch card voting. It's time we did the same

Many communities don't have the money to change from punch card to touch-screen voting. It could eventually lower voter turnout because some citizens, especially seniors, would be put off by the new technology

Snohomish County is about to become the state's first county to use touch-screen voting, but it most certainly won't be the last. The Florida election fiasco is evidence that it's time to change to the new touch-screen voting machines.

A voting system overhaul won't necessarily make the system more accurate and will cost taxpayers a fortune. Changing the punch-card system could even deter some citizens from casting their votes. Better counting standards are needed, not new machines.
