Personally Identifiable Information collected by VOTE.com and how it is used.

On the VOTE.com website, personally identifiable information is collected by specifically requesting it from you. You can choose whether or not to disclose personal information to VOTE.com. VOTE.com requests only an email address and zip code from its voters. The email address is first electronically validated by VOTE.com sending an email to the address. Then, the email address is manually validated as the voter must receive the email and mouse click on a link within it to become a fully authenticated user of the VOTE.com website. The zip code is validated by comparing it to a commercially available list.

The vote results are tabulated for display to voters and for forwarding in summary form to interested parties such as senators, congressmen and like political representatives. No personally identifiable information is included and cannot be accessed by the public. Targeted mailings may be sent to voters who took certain positions on certain votes.

VOTE.com will not disclose your personally identifiable information without your permission unless we need to do so in order to comply with applicable law, a subpoena, or other legal process or to protect the safety of other voters or the public. VOTE.com does not sell or rent its personal information to any third party without the voters consent. We never tell our advertisers or anyone else who voted, how an individual voted or what any voter viewed.

Voters should note that when you are on the VOTE.com website you may be directed to other websites that are beyond our control. For example, if you mouse click on a banner advertisement, the mouse click may take you off the VOTE.com website. These other websites may independently collect data, solicit personal information, or send their own cookies to you.
