VOTE.com requests only an email address and zip code from its voters. The email address is first electronically validated by VOTE.com sending an email to the address. Then, the email address is manually validated as the voter must receive the email and mouse click on a link within it to become a fully authenticated user of the VOTE.com website. The zip code is validated by comparing it to a commercially available list.
The vote results are tabulated for display to voters and for forwarding in summary form to interested parties such as senators, congressmen and like political representatives. No personally identifiable information is included and cannot be accessed by the public. Targeted mailings may be sent to voters who took certain positions on certain votes.
VOTE.com will not disclose your personally identifiable information without your permission unless we need to do so in order to comply with applicable law, a subpoena, or other legal process or to protect the safety of other voters or the public.
