British researchers have announced that more children are developing allergies due to pregnant women eating peanuts. The percentage of children with peanut allergies has tripled since 1989. Pregnant women should be advised to avoid peanuts altogether.

It would be premature to advise all pregnant women to stay completely away from peanuts until more research is complete. Doctors already recommend that women who have a family history of peanut allergies stay away from them while pregnant.
