American Express is offering disposable credit card numbers for online shopping. These randomly generated numbers will allow consumers to make online purchases without transmitting their actual credit card numbers, making them feel more protected.

 		 Using credit card numbers online, even disposable ones, still leaves consumers vulnerable to hackers due to web sites with inadequate security. Just last week, over 15,000 Western Union online customers had their credit card information hacked and stolen.
