Where's the evidence?

This is another case of unnecessarily alarming the public. The cell phone industry has spent $25 million for research on cell phone safety, and is committed to still more research. There is not one proven case of a cell phone causing harm to any human being of any age. Cell phone safety is already regulated by the Federal Communications Commission, which has standards for the permitted amount of radiation the phones can emit. If there were any real danger, the Commission would be taking action, and so would the U.S. Food & Drug Administration (FDA). Instead, the FDA has stated publicly that it sees no need for any regulations now.

Companies such as AT&T, moreover, are not telling parents to give cell phones to kids. They are marketing family plans and phones with special jackets that could even become collector's items. Warning labels are totally unnecessary. Parents are intelligent enough to be able to regulate their children's use of cell phones without the government telling them what to do.
