A permanent tax credit for businesses in President Bush’s proposed new tax cut plan would exempt any research and development costs from taxes. This would encourage companies to invest more resources in developing new and more efficient technologies.

We'll send your vote to President Bush.

While R&D plays an important part in the development of new technologies, it is unfair to subsidize companies for investing in research. These companies will reap the profits from any advances they may develop and should therefore bear the costs as well.
