Help, by using competition to improve education

Hurt, by siphoning money from cash-strapped schools

Help
When public schools fail, vouchers allow poor children to get a better education. We shouldn't waste money on schools that aren't doing a good job teaching the leaders of tomorrow. Competition for funding will push failing schools to improve.

Hurt
The last thing that underfunded schools need is the threat of even less money. The way to improve public education is not to give up on it, but to raise standards and reduce class sizes. Plus, giving money to religious schools violates the Constitution.
