The money can be used to improve the quality of teaching education and for capital works in state schools. Mr Beazley told ABC Radio: "They don't need it. What are they going to do? Add another playing field to the 15 that they've already got?"
 

National Council of Independent Schools Associations executive director Bill Daniels said: "Schools need stability. Those 58 are all in a quandary about how they are to arrange their finances for next year (because Labor may win the election)."
