Former Prime Minister Paul Keating has been critical of the government's racist appeal to voters in the federal election. "You've got a prime minister who got elected on a racist manifesto, that's the long and short of it," he said.
 

Mr Howard's decision to refuse entry to the mostly Muslim migrants may have sealed his victory at the November 10 election. His actions demonstrated that he is leading Australia with our best interests in mind.
