NSW Police Commissioner Peter Ryan said technology was available to stop criminals moving across state borders and the community should not worry about privacy issues if they had nothing to hide.
 

Citizens should not be tracked everywhere they travel. Even people who have nothing to hide have reason to worry, since increased tracking powers can be easily abused. Identity cards should not be required.
