		Was It A Good Decision To Remove The Marriage Waiting Period Requirement?					There hadn't been a change in the waiting period requirement since the 1950s and the times have changed

							In some cases, the three days serves as a sobering up period

A new law went into effect that eliminates the three-day waiting period after couples obtain a marriage license. Now couples that live in different towns don't have to file paperwork in both places. The old law was outdated. We needed a change.

The divorce rate will go up as a result. The three-day waiting period served as a last chance for couples to change their minds and shouldn't have been eliminated. What's the harm in waiting three days before being able to say 'I do'?
