		Tell parents when kids are taught by teachers who aren't properly trained for the subject they are teaching?					Parents have a right to know when schools have sunk to assigning teachers out of field

							This is a minor problem that does not deserve such hysteria

Approximately one in four public middle and high school classes is taught by a teacher not trained in that particular subject. This problem unjustly and disproportionately works against those students in schools that serve poor and minority students.

With dwindling resources and severe teacher shortages plaguing most schools, administrators are just glad to have a body in the classroom, never mind one that is an expert in the field. It is a simple matter of stretching available teacher resources.
