According to a recent finding by the Environmental Protection Agency, diesel exhaust fumes from large trucks are likely to be carcinogenic to humans by inhalation. For overall public health, we need more strict regulations for cleaner diesel fuel.

It is not clear that exposure to diesel exhaust has negative long-term health consequences, and there has already been a serious shift towards improving diesel emission technology. We also need to look at other off-road sources such as tractors.
