Scientists claim to have found West Nile virus in blood collected from several different donors and used in a transfusion for a woman who subsequently came down with the infection. The virus is new to us and we should err on the side of caution.

 		 There is no cause for widespread panic. The government is doing all that it can to try to find out exactly what's going on. It is overkill to routinely test for an illness when most people live in areas where mosquitoes are known to harbor the virus.
