Dell Computer Corporation is giving the "Steven" campaign a break, but promises that he'll be back for more annoying ads. Another ad campaign - in fact, ANY other ad campaign - would surely be less juvenile. Dell should keep this "dude" off screen.

Since the "Steven" campaign began, Dell's sales have skyrocketed. The company is now the No. 2 maker of personal computers, thanks in part to this young star. The "Dell Dude" has become a cultural icon, like the "Where's the beef" lady and Joe Isuzu.
