The Air Line Pilots Association is attempting to close the Moussaoui courtroom to the public if cockpit recordings are played during the trial. In the event of an airline disaster, federal law dictates that passenger and pilot privacy be preserved.

Pilot and passenger privacy is understandable, but the attacks of Sept. 11th represent an attack on the entire nation. If cockpit recordings are used during the trial, Americans have a right to know exactly what's going on. This is a unique case.
