Ban Cellphones in movies, concerts and shows?
Polls Have Closed

YES
Too many shows and movies are ruined because of inconsiderate idiots who don't shut their ringers off
NO
An outright ban would be inappropriate and excessive. Common courtesy shouldn't be mandated by law

New York City may become the first city in the nation to punish those chatting on cellphones during a concert, show or movie. This is a proposal that deserves a round of applause. It's time to punish those who ruin shows with their selfish behavior.

The anti-cellphone movement is going too far. People sometimes forget to turn off the ringer while attending a movie; they shouldn't be punished for such a tiny slip-up. Laws are not necessary to stop such behavior. Don't police have better things to do?
