The General Accounting office, in a report to the House, said that it discovered weaknesses in federal technology systems - and declared that more has to be done to plug the leaks. Federal payment, taxpayer and medical payment data must remain secure.

Overall, security is already much better than before 9/11. Many of the security lapses were found during audits and are already being resolved. The government knows that there are some problems, but they're doing their best to fix the flaws.
