One after another, the government's claims are being proven false

On Day 51 of the siege of the Branch Davidian compound, the US government was ashamed, angry and fed up.  With the whole nation watching the bureau's failure to arrest David Koresh, the tanks rolled in and the sharpshooters took aim, sealing the fate of the 82 people inside.

Koresh had predicted he'd die in a fiery blaze, yet there were no fire trucks on hand.  He'd agreed to give up once he finished his manifesto, yet the government chose not to wait.  The FBI claimed no military personnel were involved, only later to confess the army's crack Delta Force was at the siege.

Now the government's own reenactment of the compound's final hours has forced the FBI to admit that, yes, infrared video can potentially pick up gunfire - this after claiming that flashes on video of the siege was caused by "debris."

The government did a similar about face after claiming for years that the Davidians set the fire.  Attorney General Janet Reno had repeatedly denied that incendiary devices were used in the siege, only to change her tune when confronted with pictures of flammable CS tear gas canisters among the wreckage.

It's not inconceivable that sharpshooters would fire on the compound.  After so many days of waiting in frustration, a sharpshooter could have heard the telltale snap of gunfire, either from burning munitions or some other explosion.  It's also possible the government gave orders to shoot civilians inside the compound, but that is by no means the only explanation for why bullets would have rained down - it's only the most frightening.

The siege reenactment gave more proof than ever that sharpshooters fired into the compound.  We've been down this road before.  The government is still trying to save face over Waco, when their main concern should be finding out what went wrong.
