The government didn't pull the trigger at Waco |

| Surviving Davidians say it was too noisy to hear if they were being fired at On March 19, 2000 the U.S. government staged a $1 million reenactment of their actions at the Branch Davidian retreat in Waco, Texas. Infrared video experts are analyzing the film of the reenactment. U.S. attorneys had raised questions about whether the test would accurately reproduce the original events, or whether, as appears to have happened, it would simply raise a whole host of new questions. Supporters of the sharpshooter theory claim gunshots made the Davdians afraid to run out of the compound, but Davidian Clive Doyle said it was too noisy for him to hear if anyone outside the compound was shooting and that he "couldn't swear" he heard any rifle fire.
